Convention Center), NRG Stadium (home of the Houston Texans and The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo), NRG Astrodome (“The” Astrodome), and NRG Arena. We are seeking a unique Journeyman Electrician person to join our Engineering team. Under general supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks to repair and maintain all electrical equipment in and around the building. Also, acts as liaison between the facility and clients, ensuring all clients’ requirements are met and facility rules, regulations and policies are adhered to.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following:

  • Troubleshoot all electrical malfunctions. Assist repairing all inoperable electrical equipment and circuits.
  • Follow preventative maintenance schedule for all electrical machinery, equipment, and wiring.
  • Assist with preparing and repairing electrical fixtures and sockets to run required wires for computer hook-ups.
  • Inspect and assist on all electrical work, telephone hook-ups and wiring to ensure the facility meets safety standards.
  • Advise the facility of all problems related to the electrical systems.
  • Report any event that caused damage to immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain, order and pick-up adequate spare parts and supplies.
  • Observe supervisor advising construction contractors, promoters, event coordinators and others on event’s electrical requirements.
  • Assist with special event preparation, conversions, and post event needs, as requested.
  • Catalog all work, repairs, and damage in a daily log.
  • Record all Lockout/Tag out task and assignments in logbook.

  • OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Certificate preferred.

Acts as liaison between the facility and clients, ensuring all clients’ requirements are met and facility rules, regulations and policies are adhered to.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule hourly staff on behalf of the Outside Operations team.
