Summary
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Dock Supervisor at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. NRG Park is in the fast lane for opportunity and excitement. We are a one-of-a-kind premier facility with four major venues within one giant park. NRG Center (one million+ sq. ft. Convention Center), NRG Stadium (home of the Houston Texans and The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo), NRG Astrodome (“The” Astrodome), and NRG Arena. We are seeking a Dock Supervisor to join our Security team. Under general supervision of the Director of Safety & Security and Security Managers, this position is responsible for day-to-day operations of dock operations to include shipping & receiving of various deliveries, and various logistical and administrative items delivered to, and from, NRG Stadium and NRG Center. This position also oversees and supervises the mail clerk as it relates to general mail being delivered to NRG Park tenants and the separation of said mail into mail bins near the security office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for coordinating and managing all loading dock activities at NRG Stadium and NRG Center (Include the following):
- Authorizing access to loading bays, and/or the dock area at NRG Stadium and NRG Center.
- Coordinating access to loading bays in the north dock at NRG Stadium and NRG Center.
- Ensuring all shipments received have prior authorization and verifying with the tenant any shipments
without prior authorization. - Issuing daily wristbands at the point of receiving for shippers needing Service Level Access.
- Receiving freight shipments for NRG Park tenants at the NRG Stadium and NRG Center inspecting freight shipments to include:
- Comparing bills of lading to the shipment received. Specifically, the number of boxes, pallets, etc., received versus the number of boxes shipped.
- Signing for shipments received.
- Noting and documenting the condition of the shipment, i.e., open boxes, stained boxes, and/or any other abnormal features about the shipment.
- Accurate & timely documenting receipt of all packages, freight, USPS, special deliveries, and vehicle/driver information through the necessary process (online, app based or written as required).
- Timely notification of shipments received to tenants.
- Supervising the delivery and unloading of packages, pallets, FF&E, and specialty items to the dock area. This may involve the use of mechanized equipment such as pallet jacks, golf carts, push carts, forklifts, etc.
- Documenting/reporting any damage done to NRG Park property by shippers in the 24/7 software system, to include pictures.
- Completing workorders for damaged or inoperable equipment.
- Ordering/requesting necessary dock equipment and supplies to include PPE and signage necessary for safe dock operations.
- Notifying the Safety and Compliance Manager of any unsafe practices or accidents to include near misses.
- Maintaining general upkeep of the loading dock and surrounding areas which includes, but is not limited, pallet/dock organizing, reporting/requesting/removing/relocating unapproved equipment & supplies.
- Requesting trash pulls, floor sweeping, and power washing as necessary to keep the area(s) clean.
- Monitoring garbage dumpsters and notifying Aramark when containers close to maximum capacity.
- Complete administrative duties such as monitoring and responding to emails, text messages, and verbal requests in a timely fashion.
- Responding to specific tenant requests.
- Initiating and conducting investigations of missing packages and deliveries.
- Notifying the Security Manager(s) or the Safety & Security Director of any issues affecting the orderly operation of the dock area.
- Bring forward ideas and suggestions that may improve dock operations to the attention of the Safety & Security Director.
- Maintaining delivery logs for at least one (1) year.
- Attending and participating in all Safety & Security Department meetings.
- Attending production meetings as necessary to ensure orderly dock operations.
- Uphold all safety and security policies & procedures, with a focus on adhering to OSHA Standards, applicable local codes and NFL’s Best Practices.
- Utilization of a variety of technological software, platforms, and devices.
- Assist with event day responsibilities for any/all events that take place on site (if needed).
- Provide excellent customer service to any/all guests and personnel.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and contractors via text, phone, email, and radio transmissions.
- Participate in and successfully complete all required and assigned training sessions.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Performs functional supervision of carriers entering the dock area.
- Supervises the hiring and training of ASM Global’ s mail clerk to include directing, appraising, rewarding and addressing/resolving complaints.
- Report all incidents out of the ordinary to your supervisor(s).
Qualifications

- Prior facility, operations, or administrative experience preferred but not required.
- The ability to maintain any information, including but not limited to oral, written, or electronic, in a manner that ensures its confidentiality.
- Ability to handle conflicts, make common sense decisions and exercise proper action during high tension and stressful situations.
- Able to work independently with little to no supervision while exercising judgment and
- Ability to handle multiple tasks

- Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate
- Remain flexible and able to adjust work hours and schedule as needed.
- Certified forklift operator preferred.
Education and/or Experience
- One (1) year of logistical, and/or warehouse experience desired.
- One year of supervisory experience required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- OSHA 30 certified preferred but not required (will train).
Skills and Abilities
- Possess knowledge of security issues related to a major sports and entertainment
- Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form to include truck drivers, shippers, tenants, ASM, and Safety & Security staff.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with tenants, clients, employees, exhibitors,
patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment. - Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to pay attention to details
Computer Skills
- Familiar with access control and video management
- Proficient in MS Office 365 i.e., Windows, Mac, Adobe, Word, Excel, and other standard office equipment.
Other Qualifications
- Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
- Possess any appropriate licenses as required by the state.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job include:
- Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 50 Lbs.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Some bending may be required.
